Financial Pineapple

Yesterday, my mother and her sister Gill visited Nelson. Gill is visiting from England and happened to also be here in time to attend Nelson's farewell BBQ at Chinaman's Beach before he left for Switzerland. I told Nelson a few days ago that Gill was here, and he was looking forward to seeing her.

Mum and Gill reported that they'd had a really good visit with Nelson and Gill had been very surprised that Nelson obviously remembered who she was. They had a very good chat on the verandah for over an hour and a half.

Today, Brent accompanied Darius and me to see Nelson. Brent has just completed a beautiful and insightful documentary on the Tasmanian Tarkine which is really worth watching. We went onto the front verandah and had a good conversation with Nelson there.

An hour or so later, we were joined by James and Mary Anne and the visit took on the atmosphere of a good dinner party!

It was Mary Anne's first visit to Nelson and she said she was pleasantly surprised at how Nelson could follow and contribute to the conversation - except she was baffled and somewhat amused by the "financial pineapple" he mentioned at one point...
